This aftermarket fender was purchased to repair a 1993 Ford Bronco II. The
fender was certified by
CAPA (Certified Automotive Parts Association) as
"the same as" an original fender
manufactured by Ford Motor Company. By clicking on the photos you can see
there is a difference in appearance and construction between the aftermarket and
OEM manufactured
fender.
Manufacturing
flaws include not only poor exterior stamping, but also unseen internal problems
such as mis-placed resistance welds and loose brackets.
Another
panel purchased for this Bronco was manufactured with a end bracket welded in
the wrong position. The panel had to be cut, dismantled and re-welded by a body
technician to be made usable.
By clicking on the picture to the right, the misplaced
bracket is easy to detect by comparing the right
and left sides of the panel.
