The
picture to the left depicts the manufacturer logo on a aftermarket hood used to
repair a 1990 Pontiac Bonneville.
The
outer surface of the hood shows distortion where the gas
struts are mounted to
support the hood when open. Upon opening, it was clear that the
reinforcement was bending the outer edge of both sides of the hood.
Click on this photo to view the hood latch area which appears to have
moved through use on the aftermarket hood
To
the right is the manufacturer logo to the left fender used in the same repair.
Both items are not certified parts and were installed under a State Farm Service
First agreement in March of 2001. Both the fender and the hood were replaced by the insurance company
with OEM parts in March of 2002.
